About Us

HI,

You might be wondering how did I come up with this Balanced Riding Method. I only rode once at 8 years old at a stable and the horses galloped home. My next ride was 20 years later (wonder why?) when my family bought 11 acres in Brooks, Georgia. My sister and I had always wanted horses our whole life so we got a horse and then another until we had 14 horses on 11 acres. During the 5 years we lived in Brooks, I took English riding lessons because I wanted to learn how to ride like I saw people in the movies. I bought and read the book, Centered Riding by Sally Swift. I failed to ever get into balance and that lasted 13 years by which time I had moved to Del Rio, Tennessee in 1993 to open a ranch. From 1993 to 2001 I still could not ride very well except by holding on the horn and using the stirrups. I threw caution to the wind in late 2001 and said I have to figure this out and I am going to try everything I can think of to get there. After experimenting one day I finally leaned back in the saddle and suddenly I was in balance! After 13 years I recognized it immediately. I also figured out that I had been using my feet in the stirrups for balance, which also made my knees so painful after each ride I vowed to quit riding. So, once I put those 2 things together I started to ride in Balance and without pain. This worked so well for me I started to teach every guest that visted our Dude Ranch the things I learned. So for the last 14 years we have had over 5000 guests get into balance their first day at the ranch, and the majority were beginners either with zero previous rides or less than 20 times on a horse. So, it was not on purpose that I set out to discover this method, but by necessity for me and as I passed it along and watched it work, I decided to somehow get this out to the public. You should be able to get into Balance your first day and then forever enjoy horseback riding without pain! What the Horse Industry teaches leads to a 70-80% attrition rate where most folks just quit! Please don't give up your love of horses because of this industry standard that works against your immediate success! Try my method and you will forever be in Balance and be able to Love when you ride the magnifienct Horse!

Happy Trails!
